OCTOBER SELF-CARE BOOK CLUB
Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones
By James Clear
Tuesday, October 16, 2024 7:00 PM
Have you ever set a New Year’s Resolution and given up before the end of January? You have a clear picture of what you’d like to achieve — weight loss, a better job, a happier, more loving relationship. But you don’t know how to get there and you blame yourself for a lack of self-discipline.
If you’re that person — and really, who of us isn’t? — then James Clear’s book is for you. He teaches you to focus on small consistent changes that, like compound interest, can be incredibly powerful over time. With just a 1% daily improvement in whatever aspect of your life you choose to focus on, you can improve 7% by the end of the year, and over the course of a year, you can improve almost 37%! Imagine a relationship that is 37% better, a job that’s 37% better, a body that is 37% healthier.
It’s best if you read the book before you join us, but even if you don’t, you’ll pick up the most important points and be able to incorporate these ideas into your own life.
SLIDING SCALE
Self-Care Book Club is for everybody regardless of their financial situation.
So we offer three options rather than one fixed donation suggestion. This structure makes it possible for more people to access Self-CXare BOok, supported by the community and those who have access to more resources. Your enrollment also helps us to add more scholarships. Please choose the option that feels appropriate to you and your circumstances.
$20 -- SPONSOR ACCESS: For those with more than enough financial resources and a desire to support access for others to help rebalance systemic inequity.
$15 -- FAIR ACCESS: For those with sufficient financial resources and who can pay fair value for the experience.
$5 -- SUPPORTED ACCESS: For those with currently limited financial resources who will benefit from access supplemented by the community.
If this amount is still a challenge, we gladly accept donations of time and energy to maintain BreathWorks.
